Deer and Dancing

Bekah wanted to go outside and play for a while after lunch. No problem, or so I thought. Less than one minute after I sent her outside, she came back in:

"Daddy, I don't want to play outside. The deer are watching me."

And she wasn't kidding.

Yikes. Fortunately, daddy shooed them away, and the playing commenced without further delay.

Later, she wanted to dance for me, but she didn't want any music. I guess that makes imagining this scene a bit easier for you, because you don't have to worry about imagining the wrong song...

Just Bekah being Bekah.

Bath Time

Bath time is always an adventure in our house, that's for sure, but it's always cute, too!

Ring Around the Rosie

These are from last night out on the porch. Just our girls being our girls!

Hayden's Dedication

Our nephew Hayden was dedicated this Sunday. The service was excellent, and the entire family gathered back at Mike & Mary's house for food and football and fellowship (known collectively as the 3 F's, I believe).

(In case you're wondering: yes, I was actually there. I apparently didn't make it into any pictures, because I was assigned the job of taking pictures with Mike & Mary's camera!)

Apple Picking

Bethany's class went apple picking last week at the Stonehill Orchard, and I took Rebekah and Abigail along to join in the fun!

The kids had a great time, and as you can see from Abby's enthusiastic chomping, the apples were delicious!

Bethany: I wish the school bus only had one seat. Then it would have to drop me off before it got the next kid.

My Favorite Thing About School Yesterday

I forgot to post this yesterday, but I knew Grandma Miriam especially would enjoy this one.

Bethany's favorite thing about school yesterday? Coloring the pictures in art class!

My Favorite Thing About School Today | Rebekah's First Day Edition

With Rebekah starting school today, it's time to add her to the daily question/response: What was your favorite thing about school today?

Bethany: story-time
Rebekah: play-time

Well, at least neither one of them picked food!

Rebekah's First Day of Preschool

Our little Rebekah, who apparently isn't so very little anymore, started preschool today!

She started the morning looking like she was hardly up to it...

...but she perked up pretty quickly!

If you want a better understanding of Bekah's personality, just look at this picture:

These are some classic Bekah sweetie-pie pictures, too:

Walking into school:

the token picture of her cubby:

Not our most shy daughter, she hugged mommy & daddy, and off she went!

She's a bit tired from her busy morning, but she had a great time, and she's already looking forward to Wednesday!

Movie Night

We took the kids to the Bisons' stadium to see Cars on the jumbotron recently. They LOVED it!

Bathing Beauties

Just our three princesses being cute in the tub!

My Favorite Thing About School Today | Week 1 Wrap-Up Edition

Me: So, Bethany, what was your favorite thing about your first week of kindergarten?
Bethany: Hm... let met see... Oh, I know! Lunch!

We're looking forward to seeing what week 2 brings, because Rebekah will be starting preschool tomorrow!

Driving home tonight, we smelled a skunk. Bethany's commentary: "It's so stinky; it smells like strawberries!"

My Favorite Thing About School Today

So I decided I want to ask Bethany (and later Rebekah and Abigail) her favorite thing about school each day, and blog the responses. Seems like a cool idea, yes?

First a catch-up response, then today's.

Bethany's favorite thing about her first day of kindergarten: recess

And her favorite thing about school today: recess.

And I think I see where this is going. Here's hoping I can continue this feature long enough for her to start giving me some more varied responses!

First Day of Kindergarten

Bethany's first day of kindergarten yesterday included, among other things, her first trip on the school bus. I'll admit, we were probably at least as nervous as she was! But, trooper that she is, she got right on the bus and never looked back, informing Lisa in the process "I don't need you anymore, mom".

Yikes. Our little girl is growing up SO FAST.

Anyway, enjoy some pictures from her big day!

Here she is getting on the bus for the first time:

And here she is getting off the bus at school. Yes, we followed the bus.

She wasted no time enjoying the pillows Lisa and her aunt Sarah (also her teacher) made for the classroom:

Rebekah was eager for her sister to get home:

When Bethany arrived, she ran off the bus...

and proceeded to zone out for most of the evening. Kindergarten is hard work, I guess!
