Bethany's Prayer

So when we pray with the girls before bed, sometimes we do a "talking prayer", and sometimes we do a "singing prayer", which obviously means we just sing a simple God-related song.

After tonight's singing prayer, each of the girls wanted to sing an impromptu prayer, too; here's how Bethany's went:

God is my God
and we always listen to God
and our parents, too
and when we grow up
we get old and we die

At which point she stopped singing and said, "that's it."

Vacuuming...

...in high heels and pearls, as it were:

Welcome to the family, Hayden!

Uncle Mike & Aunt Mary welcomed their first baby on the 16th, little Hayden Michael.

(even Abby seems to like him already--I'll admit we were a bit worried after Rebekah was, um, less than receptive of Abby at first!)

Mike & Mary are keeping a blog for him, so if you know the little guy or his parents, go check it out!

Fantasy Island

Our families made the yearly visit to Fantasy Island, which is pretty much the perfect amusement park for smaller kids like ours. Naturally, a great time was had by all!

It was a long day for poor Abby, but man, was she a trooper!

The ride home, though, gave her some sweet rest!

I actually feel like there were a lot more pictures than that, but I can't figure out what the deal is, so I guess that's it for now.

Cousins!

Our girls have had a great summer, and part of the reason for that is that they got to see some cousins they don't usually get to see.

Here's Bethany and Jonas hanging out with Ben:

And here are Bethany, Rebekah, and Jonas, swimming with, then drying off with Max (Leo was sleeping most of the time they were swimming):

Hopefully we can see them all again soon!

Two Years!

Catching up on blogging, from all of August, apparently, I realized I never posted this picture:

If it looks familiar, it should. It resembles this picture, which we took & posted right after we moved into this house, two years ago this month. (Note, of course, there is one person missing from the old picture.)

We still love our house (the newly stained porch isn't hurting, much), and we're looking forward to many more years here!

Lawn Fete

Sunday evening, we went with Papa Dave & Grandma Jane to one of the many lawn fetes that pop up in the summer. We had some snacks, of course, and the girls even enjoyed some of the carnival rides!

Bethany even went on a kiddie roller coaster, which she enjoyed thoroughly. (Toward the end, she started raising her hands up in the air like the other kids, but the ride didn't last long enough after that for me to get a good picture. Maybe next time!)

Wednesday Miscellany

(Can you tell I've been having trouble coming up with post titles lately? Yeesh.)

Enjoy some more pictures of things that have been amusing our girls recently!

The Radts:

(Amelia wasn't the only one of the Radt clan with us that day, but she was the only one who ended up in a decent picture that day!)

Makeshift bonnets:

Clean Room

The girls did an awesome job of cleaning their room today. So while we were tucking them in, we warned them about messing it up. We told them not to bring any toys into their bedroom, or we'd make them clean it again in the morning.
