The Obligatory Holiday Post: Easter Edition

So Easter (or is it Resurrection Day? I'm confused...) has come and gone. We had three little girls all dressed to the nines, and there was an Easter egg hunt, and the older two girls helped Lisa make cookies for the family dinner; we crammed a lot into the weekend, so hopefully you can see in these pictures that we still had a lot of fun and enjoyed a very joyful & blessed time!

First, there was the cookie-making:

Then there was the first basket hunt: the Easter Bunny strung yarn ALL OVER OUR HOUSE (and rather haphazardly, I might add), leading from the girls' beds to their baskets.

(yarn, goldfish, whatever)

And then, of course, the pretty girls in pretty dresses:

(they REALLY wanted me to take this picture. can't you tell?)

And finally, there was the second hunt:

(I'm using "hunt" in a pretty loose sense, apparently)

(wouldn't be much of a holiday post without a ridiculous picture of me, now would it?)

And that pretty much sums up our Easter weekend. We hope yours was as wonderful as ours was!

A Swingin' Time!

Lisa took the girls to the playground, and as you can see, although all the girls had fun, the highlight seems to have been Abby's time in the swing!

More of Abby walking!

These are all less than a couple weeks old, but Abby is already more confident about her walking than she is in all of these videos!

It is (mostly) official:

We have three kids who can walk!

That is all.

Bethany's Birthday Party

Bethany turns 5(!) on the 19th, and we had her (My Little Pony-themed) birthday party Sunday (early enough to miss spring break so her classmates could make it, something we'll probably have to do every year).

There was a whole litter of 3-5 year olds running around our house, so it's all kind of a blur, but hopefully these pictures will give you an idea of how much fun we all had!

Here are Bethany and Jonas admiring the spread, pre-party:

The kids all ate lunch around a picnic blanket in our living room!

After lunch, the kids enjoyed (briefly) playing pin the tail on the pony:

The cake:

and the cupcakes:

And of course, the presents. Some pony stuff, some princess stuff, and a fancy dress (naturally). A good haul, if you're into that sort of thing, like a certain soon-to-be 5 year old I know...

All in all, the party was a lot of fun for everybody, especially for the girl of the hour!

Bethany explains the hereafter

One of our conversations from lunch today, for your enjoyment & enlightenment.

Me: Rebekah, please don't jump up and down while you're chewing your jelly beans.
Jonas: Yeah, you could choke and die FOREVER.
Bethany: No, actually you would die, then Jesus would make you alive again and give you a new body.

March Roundup

So I've been a slacker lately, both with picture-taking and blogging. As evidence, what follows is most of what we got in March. Enjoy, and pray for me to get my act together in April.

Here's Rebekah painting a little wooden seahorse:

Here are the three big kids doing something they do more and more as they get older: play very nicely together!

And in our last picture, here's Bethany with a look on her face I won't try to describe:

Now two videos -- the first is Rebekah doing a little showing off for Lisa:

And here's our little Abigail, playing a little game with Bethany:

And that's the end of it. Again, hopefully there will be a lot more in April!

Nighttime Crisis

Last night, at 10:15, I heard Rebekah yelling from upstairs, "Mooommmmyyy!!!!" Thinking she had fallen out of bed, or woke up wet, I ran upstairs to see what was wrong. Seeing me, she said, "Mommy, I can't reach Jamma's!" What was wrong? She had dropped her book and didn't want to get out of bed to pick it back up. Calling for me seemed like a better solution, I guess. At 10:15.
