All Hands On Deck

We were in Columbus last weekend for my 10th high school reunion (an event for which we may have forgotten our camera), and Sunday went a little like this:

Bethany and Rebekah did things like this

while I helped my dad help my Uncle Bruce put an addition onto my parents' deck:

Pool Fun(?)

I believe the phrase you're looking for is "land-lubbers"

I believe the term you're looking for is "weirdo".

Three Little Maids in a Bath

Bethany and Rebekah, (almost) always the attentive, helpful big sisters:

Meet the New Bethany

As Lisa said, Bethany's new hairdo is as cute as can be!

I just cut off all of Bethany`s hair! She looks super cute with chin length hair!

Fire Pit Fun

We had another fire in the fire pit not long ago, and the kids, as usual, had themselves a great time--picking flowers, wearing Abby's hats, hangin' out with grandma, and of course, eating s'mores.

Not much I can say about this one...

Lisa's parents got a room at the casino recently, which meant it was time to take the kids swimming at the casino's pool. We all had a good time, of course--even Abby, who swam some before doing a fair amount of napping poolside!

Happy Abby

Seems like there are always pictures of the older two girls doing something cute and not so many of Abby. Well, rest assured, she can be cute with the best of them!

Michael, Michael, Motorcycle

Lisa's brother Mike got a new ride recently. Check it out:

Abby Rolling Over

Abby rolled over last week for the first time... although we completely missed the first few times, the one we saw we caught on video!

Catching up on Lafferty Videos

We have a bunch of great videos to catch you up on. First, this is some quality time with Abby.

Then, Rebekah getting VERY excited about her Mickey birthday plates.

In case you're not up-to-date with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, this is the dance that Daisy Duck does in one of the episodes. Bethany is a HUGE fan of Daisy Duck.

Finally, here's a clip of Rebekah trying to wake up Bethany while we were camping. I'm only posting this so you can hear her call Bethany "Ny Marget."

Things My Wife Has Said

At Lisa's request, I am going to try to resurrect the Things My Wife Has Said series, which has been featured on most of the blogs I've had (here's a good sampling, if you don't know what I'm talking about).

With that, here's something she said to me one night last week:

"That reminds me of a story I read on the radio."

and here's one from just a moment ago:

"I crack myself up, so I have to put it on Twitter."

She never runs out of these, so more should be forthcoming. And you can find all the things that crack her up on Twitter here.

The kids are taking in a Bisons game while Matt and I mosey around Allentown Art Festival. I love Buffalo - and no, that wasn`t sarcastic.

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Just took a tour of the quarry. It is massive! Bethany loved it!
Lots of activities today: Southgate garage sale, Quarry Day, and swimming!

Friday, June 11, 2010

Rebekah just went potty!! Then we came downstairs to see that Abigail rolled over. Again. We have yet to catch her in action!

Playing Around

Last Saturday, everyone spent much of the afternoon outside, and as is the norm with our family, fun & silliness ensued.

That last picture introduces the kite portion of this post. Watch the following, and prepare to laugh both with and at us.

And now for some jumping rope, by Grandma Jane, who is awesome:

And here's Lisa, who is slightly less fantastical with the hula hoop,

followed by Rebekah, the burgeoning hula hoop expert:

And of course, what day with the Sirgeys would be complete without some of Papa Dave's tomfoolery?

Uncle Mike's Birthday

We recently celebrated Uncle Mike's birthday (a little late, but still), and the kids, as you have surely already guessed, enjoyed the festivities, especially the food, as much as Mike did!

And notice Uncle Mike & Aunt Sarah, on either end of the picture: think those two are brother and sister? Yikes.

Bunk beds, anyone?

Apparently, this is a thing, now:

We might have to get these girls in bunk beds, because they really enjoy sleeping near each other lately!

Last week, we (finally!) got around to planting the marigolds Bethany grew in a cup in PreK this year. As you can see, the kids were quite proud of their planting job!

Guilt trip of the day: Beth burnt her finger on a motorcycle. She told me, "It`s b/c you stopped watching me, right? You should have said no."
We are oh-so-excited that Aunt Sarah is going to be Bethany`s teacher next year!

We're sitting around our first fire in our firepit!

Catching Up: Part 8 | Camping

Buckle up: this is going to be a long one.

We went camping last weekend, obviously. We chose Stony Brook State Park, which turned out to be an excellent decision! Decent sites, an amazing playground, a pool (which was unfortunately closed for the season), and decent hikes for kids, including one that follows Stonybrook itself, on which hikers can hike most of the trail IN the water.

Sarah and Jonas came to visit Sunday and spend the night, and as usual, a good time was had by all!

(These are just in chronological order, with an occasional thought/note thrown in)

There are a LOT of pictures in this post, so click on "Read more" to see the rest!

Catching Up: Part 7 | More Sisterly Love

These are definitely the best pictures we've gotten of the three girls so far--this was just getting ready to go to Bethany's PreK graduation. Not much else I can say, so just enjoy all the cute!

Catching Up: Part 6 | Sprinkler Fun

We got the sprinkler out last week, and as hot as it was, the kids were having such a good time I just had to join them!
